Malcolm X

Malcolm X was an idol of blacks in the United States. He wanted the unity of all African-Americans in the U.S. and selected in a very radical. On February 21, 1965 was murdered in New York.

No saint

Children and Youth
On May 19, 1925 Malcolm Little was the son of a black Baptist minister born. The most profound experience of childhood was the killing of his father by the Ku Klux Clan. Malcolm's mother could not overcome the loss and ended up in a psychiatric hospital. The eight children have been partly in foster care, partly in institutions.
In the 40's, the young Malcolm was a common criminal "Detroit Red", a name. He is cheerful, but could not stop, was arrested by police for seven years in prison there.

Radical Muslim
In prison Malcolm read many books and trained more extensively in various subject areas. He also dealt with the teachings of Elijah Muhammad, leader of the Nation of Islam, "an order founded in 1930 in the U.S. Muslim sect.
Malcolm studied the Koran and other religious and philosophical writings and put his slave name "little ". From then called simply "X ".After his release Malcolm X Elijah Muhammad went to the mosque in Harlem and became the most successful missionary in the radical Muslim preacher. He saw himself as chosen by God to unite blacks in North America to throw off the yoke of the whites.
Through his charismatic speeches, Malcolm X rhetoric Bright said in his public enthusiasm. In his speeches, he called for economic independence and a separate state for blacks. Malcolm X quickly became a symbol of the centuries from the womb of repressed anger. Was observed by the CIA and was constant death threats.

The rejection of racial hatred
In 1964 he broke with the Nation of Islam. "He was very religious and apolitical. He did not want to see radical condemnation of all whites as devils. Therefore, he founded his own black movement. It became an enemy of Elijah Muhammad . But even before they have passed the radical Muslim leader in popularity. Malcolm X wanted freedom rather than oppression, and the same happened with Islam, as it was designed by Elijah Muhammad and preached.
In April 1964, Malcolm X went on a pilgrimage to Mecca. In Saudi Arabia, has changed his mind about people. Muslims found that black and white could live together in peace and the desire of his country.
So he brought his black brothers and sisters to fight for their rights and not to persist in oppression. On February 21, 1965 Malcolm X was during a speech in Harlem beaten by 13 fatal shootings. As the mastermind behind the murder of Elijah Muhammad was suspected but never proved. Malcolm X was only 39 years old. Along with Martin Luther King, the black movement of the 60 U.S., where a huge boost. Filmed in 1992, the life of director Spike Lee's Malcolm X with Denzel Washington in the lead role.
